A weekend away.
Fall Retreat is one of our favorite weekends of the year. We believe there’s something about breaking away from our busy routines for a weekend to refocus on Jesus. Whether you’re new to Veritas or you’ve been around for a while, this is such a great time to grow in community and closer to the Lord. Join us for a weekend of music, talks by a guest speaker, small group discussions, and time to spend outdoors. Check out this video from last year’s Fall Retreat. We can’t wait to see you there!
2019 Dates: September 27-29th
Fall Retreat Stories
"Fall retreat was the first Veritas associated event I went to last year. I wasn't a Christian yet and honestly didn't even know how to read the Bible at that point, but I felt so welcomed by the community of people I was surrounded by. I know it sounds cheesy, but while Fall Retreat was so much fun and allowed me to meet so many people who are now some of my best friends, above all that weekend completely changed the course of my faith."
"I went to fall retreat because it sounded like a fun weekend to get out of Columbia and build upon current friendships in Veritas as well as form new ones. What I liked about fall retreat was that we were intentionally put into groups of people we didn't know very well. This allowed us to meet people from different backgrounds, Greek and non Greek, and form relationships with people who we would probably have never talked to otherwise. Veritas became more like a big family than just a large group of people."
“Last year heading into fall retreat I had no idea what to expect. I went with an open mind and I think that was the best thing for me. Saturday night we had a bonfire, and that’s really where my college story starts. Austin Conner and I talked for two hours about my story and how I ended up at Mizzou. I had never had someone talk with me and care about me the way he did. It didn’t stop there though, I quickly had deep friendships from people I met at fall retreat. It was a special weekend for me that I will not forget anytime soon!”
“I’ve gone on Fall Retreat for the past two years. I was very hesitant my sophomore year because it had been so long since I’d attended Veritas, and I had a very limited amount of people I knew. I ended up reluctantly signing up one of the last days it was open mostly because I had a free weekend and knew I liked meeting new people. I think signing up for Fall Retreat my sophomore year was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. I did not know a lot of people but having those few people to welcome me in so wholeheartedly truly was God telling me that this was community that God wants me in for the remainder of college. Fall Retreat was such a pivotal moment in college for me. My advice to anyone coming into or hesitant to sign up is to just sign up. If it is way out of your comfort zone, get to know one person and use that person to get to know other people. You will learn so much in two days that could have an impact on the rest of your time here at Mizzou.”
